It’s difficult to make a list of the best places to see in the French Riviera in the days before the Monaco Grand Prix .
We advise you to travel by car, observing the landscape, expect frequent stopping. Each stop will give you a pure emotion.

Saint-Tropez: The icon of Brigitte Bardot is timeless and St. Tropez continues to incarnate her, although the sixties are way behind us. Take a tour in the zone of La Ponche where you will relive the scenes from Roger Vadim’s film Et Dieu crea la femme . The famous painter Signac was a citizen of this splendid town.
In 1892 he arrived here and decided to paint, with his palette of myriad colored dots, the L’Orange (1895). If you want to admire it go to The Museum of Annonciade.

Antibes: Here are moored the most luxurious boats in the world. Three thousand years of history, a stroll projected by Vauban and the most powerful lighthouse on the coast.

Luberon: Extraordinary colours and a real surprise for your eyes are waiting for you in the Luberon, the Provence Colorado, where the multicoluored walls reveal ancient ocher quarries. Over 30 hectares of tunnels, cliffs and caves coloured in shades from pale yellow to intense red.

Cassis: The gullies are small fjords along the wild coast carved into the limestone, bordered with white cliffs and covered with heather shrubs. You can admire them from above while walking on the paths or whilst driving to Port Miou or from the boat that leaves from Marseille or from the old fishing port of Cassis.

Biot: This charming village hosts the Léger Museum, an extraordinary tribute to the artists whose combination of abstract art becomes mural art. Drawings, stained glass, ceramic and colourful mosaics.

Bormes les Mimosas: Le mimosas are the mimosa that blooms in this valley in February and March. An unexpected layer of yellow covers the mountains around the village where the ancient stones still talk about a medieval history.

Renting a car is the best way to explore the French Riviera.
With nice weather the request of convertible rent-a-car increases. You will find numerous offers including two seater Spider or a convertible 4 seater going from a soft to a hard roof that can be folded electronically, but you can also choose the sports and Supercars like a Lamborghini or Ferrari that gives you a real driving pleasure.

We recommend you arrive by plane to the Nice Airport and from there take a convertible car http://www.carhire-niceairport.com

Whether you are a foodie or you want whole new experiences when you travel, you cannot ignore the food! The food that a city or country serves is part of its spirit, and when you are on holiday, the last thing that you want to do is to eat as though you were at home. Whether you love trying interesting things served by street vendors or you are after the most interesting haute cuisine a city has to offer, use these tips to make sure that your stomach remembers your holiday as well as your head does.

Do Your Research

Before you head out, check online and learn something about the local cuisine. For example, what are the most common and beloved dishes? What do people normally eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner? If you want the authentic experience, do some prep work to ensure that you don’t end up defaulting to whatever you have available. Choose a few dishes that you want to be sure to try.

Commit to Being Adventurous

If you want to make sure that you are hitting the best restaurants out there, be prepared to be taken out of your comfort zone. Don’t be afraid to eat something just because it is not like what you are used to. The only way to broaden your palate is to try plenty of new things.

Ask Around

When you get to your holiday location, ask the locals where they eat. Ask for directions and in general, you will find that you can get a great meal this way. Be adventurous, especially if the directions take you off the beaten path. While you should always exercise caution when you are in a foreign place, just trust your gut and you can have some great experiences.

Skip the Franchises

Whether the franchise serves fast food or fine entrees, skip the franchises. If a restaurant is part of a chain, it does not get to be terribly creative with the food it serves. The big benefit of a franchise is that it serves food that is palatable to a wide number of people. If you want something unique and exceptional, you’ll find that you need to go to the independent places.

Take a Sniff

If you are out and about when you feel hungry, just start following your nose. If you can smell something delicious, chances are good that you have lucked into a great restaurant. Trust your senses and remember that if food smells good, chances are that it will taste good to you.

Eat Where the Locals Eat

If you get up in the morning and you notice that a certain vendor or restaurant is doing a brisk business with the people heading to work, note the location and stop in for a meal. This is a good trick if you want to learn more about authentic local cuisine.

Look At the Menus

Have the menus been altered for the tourists? If you notice that a place has a menu that explains things very thoroughly or where traditional names have been swapped out for things that are more familiar to an English speaker, you may be in a location that caters only to tourists.

There are plenty of ways to eat well when you are on vacation, so consider finding some fantastic restaurants while you are abroad!

<a title="Prague Painting by Mike G. Your honeymoon is a vacation that you will remember for the rest of your life. Doesn’t it make sense to make it as unique as you are? Rather than flying off to traditional destinations, why not spend your first holiday as a married couple in an out of the ordinary way?

Here are three unique, romantic honeymoon destinations that are sure to light a fire in your new marriage:

1. Prague

Prague is an absolutely magical city and is considered by many to be one of the most romantic destinations in Eastern Europe. Thanks to its romantic appeal, Prague can easily be considered one of the most ideal honeymoon destinations on the continent.

Spend your days in Prague walking through narrow, cobblestone alleyways, taking in all of the sights that the city has to offer. Chat with the locals that you meet along the way and get a real sense of the city. Tour cathedrals, historic streets and shop the quaint boutiques that line the avenues.

When evening comes, venture out of your apartment for a fine dining experience followed by a walk in the moonlight. Watch the light glisten off of the stone covered streets and pop into a local club where you can dance the night away. Prague is a stunningly beautiful city and the ideal destination for those starting a new life together.

2. Isle of Skye

You’ll find the Isle of Sky in Scotland. The isle is perfect for the adventurous couple who seek to enjoy an adrenaline rush with a side of romance. Once you arrive on the isle, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the colors of nature that surround you. There is nowhere else on earth where you can experience the lush greens of the rolling ground and startling blue of the sky above.

Stand along the edge of the sea and marvel at the stunning rock formations, jagged cliffs and rolling waterfalls all around you. Spend the day touring ancient castles, hike the virtually endless trails and collect seashells while strolling along the land where it meets the sea.

Rather than renting a hotel room, choose a cottage that overlooks the water and spend your evenings relaxing to the crackling sounds emanating from your very own fireplace.

3. Iceland

No one could blame you if you didn’t consider Iceland to be a romantic honeymoon destination. Many people don’t think of an ideal honeymoon taking place in such a cold climate. If, however, you are looking for one of the most relaxing destinations in the world, Iceland is it.

The famous Blue Lagoon is home to steaming waters that are said to have healing powers. Put on your bathing suits, sit in the water side-by-side and close your eyes and just be. You’ll emerge from the waters calmer and more centered than you’ve ever been in your life.

If you can tear yourself away from the lagoon, explore the country’s many beaches, glaciers and lava falls. Sail along the peaceful waters in your quest for a view of the exquisite wildlife that calls the island home. In the evening, enjoy gourmet dining for two at one of the country’s renowned restaurants, sampling smoked puffin and reindeer.

Don’t start your married life like every other couple. Instead, consider one of these three unique destinations and build memories that the two of you will share for a lifetime; there’s no better way to spend your first vacation as a couple.

As soon as the interstate highway system was completed, the American road trip was born. Whether your idea of a great road trip is driving cross-country on Route 66 or enjoying the views from Pacific Coast Highway, there is nothing quite like packing the car and heading out for an adventure. Road trips have been rites of passage for graduates, honeymooners, and spiritual seekers for generations. Although it can be liberating to jump in the car and hit the road on a whim, there are a few practical considerations that can help you make the most of your road trip.

Pack Some Snacks

One of the most enjoyable parts of a road trip is the long stretches of nothing but farmer’s fields or mountains or desert between tiny towns on the highway. While the scenery and lack of humanity adds to the feeling of escape, it can be less fun if your stomach is growling. Be sure to put together a small cooler or sack lunch full of your favorite snacks so that you can enjoy the trip without worrying about how far it is to the next diner.

Don’t Pass up all the Roadside Attractions

Usually the drive is not the main purpose for the trip. Even if you’re really excited about reaching your destination, allow yourself a few stops along the way. America’s highways are dotted with small museums, unique restaurants, historical monuments, and tacky tourist shops. Give yourself enough time to stop in at one of these roadside attractions, even if it is only for a few minutes. Pictures of you and your best friend standing beside the world’s biggest ball of twine might make some of the best souvenirs from the whole trip.

Remember the Map

Bringing along a map doesn’t make the trip any less adventurous, and it can keep you from wasting time or other serious problems along the way. Even if you have a phone with a GPS navigator, it is still a good idea to bring along an old fashioned map of the area you plan to drive through. Phone service is not always perfect when you get out on the highway, and GPS systems are notoriously sketchy in some rural areas. A paper map never runs out of batteries and is always consistent. It can also be fun for the person who is not driving to follow along on the map as you go through small towns or other landmarks.

Keep Cell Phones Charged

Cell phone service may not be reliable along every stretch of highway, but that is no reason to let the phones die while you’re driving. Make sure you charge your cell before you leave on the trip, and take advantage of opportunities to give it a little extra juice along the way. If possible, purchase a charger that works through your car’s cigarette lighter. A cell phone can help you out of trouble if you happen to need roadside assistance or get lost in an unfamiliar area.

Bring an Emergency Kit

Probably the most practical and important thing you can do before any road trip is to pack a good emergency kit. Carry some water, blankets, an extra change of clothes, first aid, and a flash light at the very least. A can of fix-a-flat is also a good idea, especially if you are driving during extremely hot days. If you are traveling in a snowy region during the winter, you might carry a shovel in your trunk to help you dig out if the car gets stuck. A deck of cards in the emergency kit can rescue you from boredom if you have to wait for help on the side of the road.

Enjoy adventure on a budget by getting up and going when and where you want. It isn’t necessary to make advance reservations to enjoy savings on travel. The trend toward “staycations” takes advantage of opportunities to explore getaways close to home to reduce the expense of taking a vacation. Asking for discounts is a direct and often easy way to cut costs. Easiest of all, packing a bag and getting in the car opens up the adventure of a road trip whenever you want to get away.

Nearby Getaways

Explore local options for camping, visiting national parks, hiking, kayaking, walking and bicycling tours. These active vacations offer rejuvenation through time close to nature. In addition to saving money, these getaways provide outdoor exercise to increase travelers’ sense of well-being. Breaking with routine and taking a spontaneous trip is a freeing experience.

This is a convenient option for singles, couples, families and groups. Choosing a nearby destination for a quick spontaneous trip means spending last time on travel and more time exploring or relaxing. Consider hot springs, natural wonders — such as a canyon, mountain, volcano, caves, beaches or island — historic sites, archaeological sites, cultural centers with galleries, theaters, live music or events. Trips to educational sites, aquariums, zoos, botanical gardens, ghost towns and museums can be especially valuable for children.

Last-minute Discounts

Hotel rooms, spa accommodations and bed-and-breakfast stays are perishable. Lodgings that aren’t booked don’t make money. If you ask for a discount when there are vacancies, you may get a better rate. It’s even possible to get last-minute airfare and car rental discounts — even for a spur-of-the-moment trip.

Getting up in the morning and deciding to get away is exhilarating. All it takes is making a few calls or a few clicks of the mouse to save on trip right now. Some destinations, even international ones, are surprisingly affordable.

Many factors affect travel prices, and the most in-demand travel times vary from place to place. By seizing the day and asking for lower rates, anyone can take advantage of last-minute deals. Stand-by flights offer another option for the flexible, spontaneous traveler.

Road Trip

Answering the call of the open road without an itinerary is one of the classic American experiences. Some of the most celebrated works of American literature, such as Steinbeck’s Travels With Charlie and Kerouac’s On the Road immortalize the road trip. Looking online for lowest prices on gas and mapping out where to fuel the car saves on gas.

With a few basic supplies, it’s easy to hit the road and save money every step of the way. With a cooler in the car, it’s easy to keep expenses low. Eating picnics saves money, and choosing budget motels or packing a tent keeps expenses low. Bringing along a camp stove gives you the option of cooking on the road.

Check newspapers for discount movie days, and guidebooks for free days at museums and attractions to save on entertainment. Free outdoor concerts and other events are another way to have fun and save money on a spontaneous trip.

It’s time to shed the quilt, jump in the car and find a cure for cabin fever. What could be a better cure than heading out on the open road, exploring parts of the country that you’ve not seen before? With the windows down, the wind blowing through your hair and the music turned up, you’ll soon find yourself emerging from your winter cocoon with a new outlook on life!

If you’re aching to get out on the road, but not quite sure which direction to take, here are three great road trips to consider:

1. Savannah, Georgia

Savannah is one of the most beautiful cities in the United States, but particularly so in the spring. No matter where you are taking off from, map out a route to Savannah, either directly or indirectly, to see some of the most beautiful sights of the season. By March, states in the Midwest see the beginning of spring in mid-March, with parts of the south seeing trees blossom even earlier.

Once you’ve reached Savannah, spend a bit of cash and opt for a room in one of the historical inns in the city. Not only will you be treated to a heaping dose of southern hospitality, but you’ll be close enough to the historic district to spend an afternoon or two touring on foot. Before you leave for home, you simply must visit the Bonaventure Cemetery, located just 20 minutes outside of the city. The monuments, age-old oaks and dripping Spanish moss will have you feel as though you’ve stepped back in time.

2. Mackinac Island, Michigan

Mackinac, pronounced “Mackinaw”, Island at the upper tip of Michigan is an incredibly lovely place. Plan on spending at least two nights on the island; most hotels have a two-night minimum. Set your course for Mackinac City and board a ferry to the island; they depart every half hour.

Take a step backward into history in a time where horses and buggies ruled the road, not people. Cars aren’t permitted on the island so plan on renting a bicycle or strapping on a comfortable pair of sandals. Once you’ve landed on the island and rented your bike, be sure to explore downtown, stop by the Grand Hotel and grab a package of the island’s most famous confection: chocolate fudge.

3. Napa Valley, California

Whether you have to drive for two days or twelve, a trip to Napa Valley provides the perfect spring getaway. When planning your trip, try for late April to mid-May when the weather is mild and nature is blooming. Head down Highway 29 and you’ll cruise past many of the wineries in the region; be sure to stop by at least one or two.

Start your first day in Napa with a hot air balloon ride over the valley and then head down the Silverado Trail for breathtaking scenery. If you fancy yourself a ghost-catcher, stop by one of the many haunted wineries in the region and then enjoy a fabulous dinner at any one of the many spectacular restaurants in the area.

Taking a road trip will blow the snow off of your shoulders and help you welcome the spring. Before you head out, make sure that you’re prepared with an emergency roadside kit and the right insurance policy. While you may not be able to avoid an unplanned emergency, being prepared will ensure that your trip isn’t ruined and that, when you come home, you are refreshed and ready to greet the new season.

There is a lot that goes into effectively planning travel spending. One of these is preparing to safely pay for expenditures with a credit card. Consider the following ideas for maximum-benefit credit card travel spending.

1. Before and During the Trip Keep Tabs on the Status of Your Card

Many companies closely monitor for credit card fraud. If there is any hint of this or if your credit spending is suspicious it will be declined. This is why many card companies encourage customers to maintain frequent communication with them particularly in the event of a planned trip.

2. Discover the Credit Card Transaction Rate of the Country You Plan to Visit

When reserving rooms or services in a foreign country that country’s credit card transaction fees apply even before you leave on your trip. These foreign transaction fees change from card to card. You will want to discover which card is most cost efficient.

3. Take Time to Select the Best Card or Cards for the Country You Visit

For the reasons mentioned above, it is wise to select the very best card for your
selected destination. In fact, it is a good idea to travel with at least two cards in the event that one gets lost, damaged, stolen, or denied. There are a million things that can happen to a card. Be prepared with another good one.

4. Save Your Receipts

On trips we tend to spend more than we plan or expect. In addition, it can help show your innocence to your credit card companies or bank if you are charged for something you didn’t buy. This is why it’s a good idea to collect and record your receipts. If you happen to lose your receipts, most banks show your recent transactions as another method of record keeping.

5. Carry Cash Just in Case

Sometimes the magnetic strip on our credit cards won’t read. In these instances you will need to have cash on hand. You will also need foreign currency if out of the country for the smaller purchases such as from street vendors. Plus, if you need to tip a bellman, or valet, you will want to have cash.

6. When Traveling Abroad Be Aware of Earning Frequent Flyer Miles

If you want your maximum frequent flyer credit, keep close tabs on everything you do that is travel related. Hotels usually partner with airlines, which is a great and convenient way of earning points. In the end, getting frequent flyer points means saving precious dollars.

7. Cash in on the bonuses

Many cards offer cash back bonuses. If you have accumulated enough, you can use this money to pay for some or all of your travel expenses. Another way to use the points is to cash them in for a gift card for you. For example, the company may partner with one of your favorite restaurants which you can receive a gift card. Who wouldn’t want a free dinner?

England is riddled with some of the richest history, and most fascinating events to ever take place on earth. It’s also been home to some legendary individuals that are often spoke of in text books. All this has led to undeniable allure for students who wish to study abroad in England. However, deciding on what to see while in England may require a map of its own.

Historical sites in England

History buffs have their hands full in England. Epic wars and fairytale like castles are situated deep in the roots of this nation’s history. These locations here, should begin to satisfy the enthusiasts.

The Churchill War Rooms is an underground museum located in London. Here, the student will find the war rooms nearly in their original form since Churchill shouted orders from them in WWII. This location was pivotal in the success of the war.

The Warwick Castle, in Warwickshire, England, is one of the finest pieces of architecture born of the Medieval Times. Stories of love, war, and conspiracy are found echoing through the corridors. Some say it’s actually the haunting of ghosts from the torture dungeons below.

Perhaps, the most iconic site in all of England, or the world for that matter, is found in Stonehenge. This oddly shaped formation of rocks has been surrounded by folklore passed down through the centuries. Some evidence dates this formation back to 3000 BC.

For the discerning eye

Some of the most influential people in fashion, art, and creative thought have come from England. In fact, the nation is often the frontrunner in these categories, as others often try to emulate what’s happening in London. Here’s a few hot spots for those with a discerning eye.

To find the latest in creative works, students should check out the Design Museum in central London. Here they’ll find the best of industrial, architecture, furniture, and fashion designs. There’s even a cafe to mingle in with other aficionados.

Stratford-Upon-Avon is a town that is riddled with the words of William Shakespeare. Anne Hathaway, wife of William Shakespeare, was also raised in a cottage located here. The architecture of the home is straight out of a child’s book, and has since been open to the public for their own admiration.

The Benjamin Franklin House in London, is another attraction that has been open to the public in recent years. This is no ordinary museum though, as he was no ordinary man. Here, students can follow in the footsteps of Franklin by recreating their own experiments interactively.

Sporting events

Sports fans should be warned. Catching a Red Devils game, in Old Tafford, will have students mixing it up with some of the rowdiest sports fans on the planet. Taking their football “seriously” is an understatement.

Those that prefer a less enthusiastic crowd, can also catch a tennis match on the legendary Wimbledon Courts. In fact, this is the oldest, and most esteemed, tournament to have ever surrounded the sport. It’s also a good place to find celebrities sitting close by.

Author’s Bio

Adam Greene is a veteran student traveler and financial consultant researching various masters of taxation programs to find the fit for him.

How you deal with that emergency makes all the difference in how you emerge from it. Will you panic and make matters worse or will you maintain a level head and resolve the situation? Here are five tips that will help you come out of an emergency as unscathed as possible while traveling:

1. Prepare

The best thing you can do to avoid an emergency, and to handle any that occur is to be well prepared before you leave home. Print out an itinerary of your trip and give it to two or three people that you will be able to get a hold of should you need to. Make a copy of all of your important paperwork: your identification, your passport and your health insurance card, and keep these copies separate from the originals.

Make a list of important phone numbers for every destination in which you will spend time. Plug these numbers into the phone of every person in your traveling party. Divide your cash, packing it in several different places so that if you lose your luggage, you aren’t stuck without money. Lastly, if you are traveling to a country where English is not the first language, learn how to say “I need help”, “Where is the hospital” and “I need the police” in the native language.

2. Health

Your health shouldn’t be ignored while you are on vacation. If you have an allergy to bee venom, for instance, be sure to pack an extra epi-pen. If you are diabetic, bring along an extra vial of insulin and a second package of needles. Be sure to have a medical alert bracelet made and include the information in both English and the language spoken at your destination.

3. Lost Passport

If you should lose your passport, don’t panic. Simply grab the copy you have made and seek out your local embassy. Your contact at the embassy will be able to order you a new passport and get it to you in time for your return trip home. Do be aware, though, that this service is not free!

4. Lost Cash

If you lose your money, or it is stolen, you have several options. Contact someone at home and ask them to deposit money into your bank account, assuming that you have your ATM card with you. If you have lost your entire wallet, find a Western Union station and find someone who can wire you money.

A little known way to receive funds is through an OCS Trust account at the US Embassy. There is a $30 fee for this service, plus a fee for the wire transfer, but it can be a life-saver in an extreme emergency.

5. Crime

If you are the victim of crime on your vacation, be sure to report the crime to the local police. If you are traveling abroad, first report the situation to your embassy or consulate. Either of these organizations will be able to assist you in the steps of reporting the crime. The embassy or consulate can also help you notify your family should you need to do so.

It is important that you don’t panic in the face of an emergency when you travel. Remember: almost everything can be dealt with if you follow the proper steps. If you are traveling in the United States, contact local emergency services for assistance. If, however, you are traveling abroad, the US embassy or consulate can be invaluable sources of help; be sure you know where they are located.
